A Commitment to Quality Assurance: Proofreading 101

Sep 28, 2012 9:00:35 AM

Did you know that Anderson Direct Marketing has a Proofreading Department? That’s right; everything from email blasts to websites to letters, self-mailers and postcards (and more!) is reviewed by a critical eye several times prior to being released. Our department is just one example of Anderson’s commitment to quality.

You may not realize it, but if you’re a client of ADM, you’ve got a team (behind the scenes) that is as concerned with the quality of your campaign as your Account Executive or Project Manager. The Proofreading Department has been in place since 2005 and has evolved over the years to accommodate the growing demands of our company. We’ve fine-tuned our editing skills to keep up with the growth of the Interactive side of the industry and are savvy with any type of proof that comes our way. You name it, we’ve probably seen it.

My team and I review all sorts of jobs—from DM copy decks, layouts and bluelines to microsites, emails and data work and our main goal is to ensure that every piece that leaves our desk is “clean” or free of errors. We see a job through each stage of its development, from the original cold read to hard copy finalization and data checks. We do our best to ensure that nothing gets passed our picky view, whether it be the minute or the glaringly obvious.

Our job isn’t for everyone and a normal day for us revolves around strict deadlines, spur of the moment rush jobs and nit-picky catches. However, we love what we do and strive for 100% accuracy.

Are you an ADM client? If so, what has your experience been with the Proofreading Department? (Good, we hope!)
