As someone who has attended more than 25 DMA conferences and has worked as a client, supplier and now an educator, I am still as excited about direct and interactive marketing as I was 30 years ago. It is still a growing field accounting for 8.7% of GDP, 9.2 million jobs and over 52 percent of marketing expenditures in the U.S. according to the DMA. I see it continuing to grow and an even greater need for analytics and people who have data analysis skills.
